Bereś Media, a limited liability company (formerly: Bereś & Baron Media Productions) is a small movie production organization and public relations agency based in Kraków, which specializes in artistic cinema and documentary films about the 20th century world. The company founders are a creative duo: movie director Artur Więcek Baron and columnist and producer Witold Bereś.
Working together the two produced three feature movies shown in the cinemas around the country. Angel in Kraków (Anioł w Krakowie, 2002) among others won the award of the Gdynia Film Festival for best director debut and the Viewers’ Award at the Polish Movie Festival in Chicago, Illinois. The movie was also shortlisted in four categories to the Eagles Polish Film Award.
Another movie, Angel in Love (2005) was distributed in cinemas in the USA, Canada and Australia.
Yet another movie, Father Tischner and His Highlander’s Philosophy had its premiere in May 2007in Los Angeles, California.
Bereś Media has also produced a TV series The History of Philosophy based on a Tischner book. The series won at Prowincjonalia Festival in Bydgoszcz, Poland; and the Award of the Chairman of the National Council for Radion and Television at the 24th edition of the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdańsk in 1999.
Documentary movies from Bereś Media include Goralenvolk —the story of betrayal (2005); Iran—the Daughters of Islam (2005); Commander Edelman (2008) awarded at the Jerusalem Film Festival and the Asolo International Art Festival, in Italy; Tischner-a Life in Stories (2008); Bartoszewski. The road (2012), which was co-produced with the World Makes Sense Foundation.
